Guitar of the Day: 1973 Fender Stratocaster


For years the 60’s and 50’s strats have been the guitars to get and it’s not that the 70’s era was bad but it has had that vibe since my teen years working in music stores. I recall very plainly back then that the employees were only interested in wha they called pre-CBS strats (guitars made prior to CBS buying Fender).

If I’m honest though, there are a lot of 70’s strats that I think are terrific and yes, they’re vintage and worth a lot of money these days even though they are post-CBS. Here’s a terrific example of one. I love these videos from Norm’s Rare Guitars. Great stuff.
